Douglas E. Withey, CEO
Instructor and Consultant
Douglas Withey is a graduate of Homer Central High School and worked for the City of Cortland for 35 years, the last 17 of which were as the Water Superintendent. An active member of the New York Section American Water Works Association (NYS AWWA), Doug volunteered on the Eduction Committee for over 20 years. Certified as a I-B Groundwater Treatment Plant Operator, Grade D Distribution System Operator, Grade C Small Systems Operator, as well as a Backflow Device Tester and Repairman; Doug began working with Tompkins Cortland Community College (TC3) teaching II-A and Grade C Water Operator Certification courses until 2005 when he founded W2 Operator Training Group. Now Doug teaches Grades A, B, C, and D certification as well as continuing education credits for water and wastewater operators.
Dereck B. Withey, Partner
Dereck is a graduate of Homer High School and began his career in the pump industry at the age of 21. After working as a service manager for five years at a manufacturer representative, he took a position as a regional service manager for Wilo USA (a pump manufacturer). After nearly three years in this position, Dereck joins the family business to build a pump service and repair division. Dereck is also a certified technician for a number of pump manufacturers including; Wilo, Vaughan Chopper Pumps, Hydromatic, and LobePro. Dereck also carries certifications for confined space entry, competent person, and the NYS 10- hour construction safety course.
Jenae M. Withey, Partner
Jenae is a graduate of Homer Central High School and Hartwick College where she received a B.A. in Geology. After graduating, Jenae came to work for the family business where she moved between working in the office and the field before she started her training as a water operator and began teach training courses. Jenae is now the lead water operator at W2O and has received her certification in Grades II-A, II-B, C, and D. She also has certifications for confined space entry, competent person, NYS 10- hour construction safety, EPA lead renovations- initial training, and Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED.
